Hume region site visit

The VST program staff recently visited hospitals involved in the next phase of the rollout of the program – Goulburn Valley Health (GVH), Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) and Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW).

During these visits, VST Program Leads, Prof Chris Bladin and A/Prof Dominique Cadilhac and VST Program Manager, Michelle Vu met with key staff involved in stroke care at each of the sites. It was fantastic to see and hear about the great work that is already being done in the provision of quality stroke care in the Hume region. There was also great attendance by clinical staff (approx. 50) at the stroke education sessions provided by Chris Bladin.

It is anticipated that the VST Program will go live in the Hume region in early 2015. New telemedicine equipment is currently being installed at the three hospitals. We would like to sincerely thank the Hume Rural Health Alliance and IT staff at each of the health services in facilitating the installation.
