VST program expanding to the Hume region

The VST program is excited to be collaborating with Albury Wodonga Health (AWH), Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) and Goulburn Valley Health (GVH) to further enhance the care provided to patients with stroke in the Hume region.

Local site coordinators will be employed at each health service to assist with setting up the VST program, with the aim of the program going live in early 2015.

The VST program team will be visiting the hospitals in November and December 2014 to meet with Executive, clinicians and other key staff.

Each participating site will be receiving new telemedicine equipment, which provides the ability to conduct an audio visual consultation, view brain imaging and complete clinical documentation in the one system.

The new equipment is being supplied by MEYTEC, a Germany company who have extensive experience in providing stroke telemedicine solutions.

Loddon Mallee sites will also be receiving the new telemedicine equipment.
